To create one of the very first wireless charging products, we first worked on understanding how the users perceived the technology.

Case-Mate tasked us with a unique, and very practical, product design request- eliminate wires and empower users to charge without the hassle of plugging in their chargers every single time. This request also highlighted the troubles of cables, chargers, and non-standard wall outlets, which was mainly a step backward in technology when there were incredibly smart products such as the iPhone® being launched.

Using design methodologies, cultural probes and ethnographic research, we uncovered numerous insights by observing how people interacted with existing technological systems.This gave us the key concept of keeping the design neutral as well as adaptive to every demographic and persona we created. Hug was successfully launched and premiered at the Consumer Electronic show (CES) and received lauding reviews from the press and tech critics.
